Adjacent to the museum is a lovely park dedicated to the museum's volunteers.

The Jail Tree (from which escapes were unknown) is a 200-year-old mesquite tree that once served as the town jail. Also check the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts, Box Canyon/Vulture Peak Trail, Vulture Mine, Robson's Arizona Mining World, more. Long known as the "Dude Ranch Capital of the World," today we offer a number of great guest ranches. Wickenburg is also a "place for art" with a variety of businesses offering a diversity of jewelry, arts, crafts and more. You'll also want to check out the Las Sonoras de Socorro Museum Store downtown - just a few minutes away is Renderings, Rustiques, Cowboy Salvage and Quarter Horse Antiques plus many downtown shops offering Native American designs, Mexican pottery, furniture, wearable art and many other Southwestern and Western gifts and clothing.

Everett Bowman, Wickenburg's first and most famous cowboy, won All-Around Champion Cowboy of the World in 1935 and 1937, is a member of the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City and is honored with a special monument at the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs. He held a total of 6 world championships, including steer wrestling, calf roping and all-around competition. Known as "the George Washington of Rodeo," he was the father and organizer of the Cowboy Turtles Association  in 1936, which became the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.  Much of Wickenburg's rodeo town background was generated by Everett Bowman's feats. A multi-dimensional person, he was known throughout the west as the champion mule trainer, became a pilot with his own private plane, a golfer who had a hole-in-one, a rancher, family man, businessman, a member of the Arizona Highway Patrol and Maricopa County Deputy Sheriff, and Constable in Wickenburg.

Wickenburg Airport just completed its expansion including a significantly lengthened runway and new taxiway.  The new runway is compliant for Airport Reference Code B-II and will accommodate a wider variety of aircraft and significantly increases the capacity of the airport.
